Dear Homeschooling Family:

This issue of our monthly newsletter is specific to those of you who are already homeschooling. We are developing new resources for Christian families considering homeschooling and we need your help.

One of the best ways to encourage and uplift families considering homeschooling is to provide resources that provide encouragement, advice, curriculum ideas, one-income strategies, and general resources to educate them on the benefits of homeschooling.

We have three new projects on the table, two books and a booklet to accompany our DVD's. The first book will be geared towards homeschooling preschoolers. The second book is for general homeschool encouragement, advice and testimonies. The booklet will include short stories, quotes and brief personal testimonies. Our goal is to provide resources that glorify God in the homeschool setting.

Single parents and grandparents are a growing number of families considering homeschooling, so if you are (or know of someone) in this situation please consider being a part of the special projects.

This would be a wonderful way for those of you to help the thousands of families who come to us looking for help each year. Below is the general information regarding these projects.

Story Submission

Preschool Book

Step 1: How To Submit Your Story

Here's where we try to help you make the best possible submission. Follow these guidelines to increase the chances of getting your story accepted.

All works must be completely finished. Do a very careful check of your spelling and grammar.

Do not send email inquiries about the status of your submission. We will only contact you if your work is accepted.

If your story is accepted in either of the two books, you will be compensated $100.00. If a paragraph or quote is chosen for the booklet, you will be compensated $10.00.

SUBMITTING BY EMAIL:

Email is the only way to submit stories and art. If your story is illustrated, you must scan the artwork and send it via email.

Send a Microsoft Word document with in one document. Attach your Word file and graphics files to the email message and enter "Story Submission" in the subject line of the email message. That's the only thing your subject line should say.

Your email must include a short single paragraph synopsis of your story.

Format illustrations as jpeg graphic files. These have a .jpg extension on the file name. You can attach graphic files to email. We will require proof that the you have legal rights to use the pictures.

Why Is Reaching Out So Important?

This week an on-line posting by a public school teacher was brought to our attention. She has insight to the conditions of the public school system that we on the outside may never have. Her are her thoughts:

"I've been a public-school educator for over 30 years now. As a Christian, I love my job and am thankful to God for it because I have daily opportunities to impact the next generation for Christ, in both large and small ways. But I am an adult! Public schools are NOT a place where young, formative hearts can withstand the extreme and pervasive peer and adult pressure. The public-school system at large is based on principles which unashamedly disdain biblical Christianity. There IS an agenda in the public schools! The debauched youth culture of western materialism and secularism is given free reign while biblical attitudes and values are mocked and even punished. I cannot state to all parents too strongly: if it is at all possible for you, DO NOT place your children in public schools!! Their spiritual formation is YOUR direct responsibility above all other considerations."
