Research and studies conclude that homeschooling is working and working well. Below are just a few of the results of homeschool research studies. For more information visit our links page and log on to You Can Homeschool or the National Home Education Research Institute.

  • The average homeschool student performs 15 to 30 percentile points above the national average.

  • Homeschooled children across the grade levels rank the same academically whether their parent had a teaching certificate or not.

  • Home Schooling has always been legal in all 50 states and research shows that academic performance does not increase with increased state control (or “tougher” regulation).

  • Dr. J. Gary Knowles, a University of Toronto researcher has found homeschoolers to be more self-reliant and focused. "They're able to move into adulthood with a much better sense of self and have a very good sense as to what they want to do...Where did we ever get the idea that 2,000 13 years olds were the ideal people with which to socialize our 13 years olds."

  • Dr. Brian D. Ray, a leading international homeschool researcher, recently found that adults who were home educated during their K-12 years are significantly more involved in community activities and in civic engagement (e.g., voting, writing letters to public officials) than the national adult population.

  • Multiple studies on socialization and self-concept have found the homeschooled to developing as well, and generally better than, the national average.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness".   2 Timothy 3:16
